SHIFTER ROD BUSHING

This is the bushing that supports the main shift rod as it comes through its support bracket (the dealer sells the whole bracket assembly only, not just the bushing). If this bushing is worn out (most 10 year old plus cars), your shifter will not operate properly or feel right. Replace it above with the other small bushings in our shifter bushing kit.

SHIFTER ALIGNMENT TOOL

Alignment gauge being used to align shift lever and selector lever.

Golf/Jetta all‘85-92 and all Golf/Jetta 2.0L, 4 cylinder, ‘93-99.5. This shifter tool is required to line the shifting mechanism to prevent grinding of gears. It works only for this application, but is required to get proper alignment. This tool will save you days of adjusting and readjusting.

RELAY SHAFT

Golf/Jetta ‘85-99.5

The relay shaft is what is used to get the transmission into gear. If the ball either sticks or wears down, shifting is either a battle to get it into first or reverse or it’s just not smooth. Our solution is either replace the ball or replace the entire relay shaft.

We had the balls manufactured out of nylon and they should last forever. They just click on. NOT AVAILABLE FROM ANYONE ELSE. Or you can replace the entire shaft and ball.

SHIFT LEVER

Rabbit, Jetta, Scirocco ‘75-84

These short rods with a hard plastic ball help you get into gear.  The sides wear out and get flat making it not as wide and unable to push the shifter into its correct place. You can then only get the car into first.
