Don’t be worried!! Only half of VW radiators are hard to figure out.  Basically, after 1985 all VWs came from the factory in predictable configurations.  So if your car is a “Late Model” 1985 on look at “Late Model Chart’” if your car is not there, then look at the other chart.

Will It Fit?

To be certain you’re ordering correctly look at and measure your radiator for some critical information:

What is the length of the “core”? The center section, or “finned” area, not including the end caps is _____ inches?

Does it have a filler neck? Or does the radiator pull coolant from a plastic tank through a small rubber hose? (No filler neck.)

Does the radiator have mounting pins resting in holes in the radiator support? Or is it bolted through? (Either type can be drilled and moved slightly inward or outward to accommodate a slightly different size.) Sometimes varying the width will allow you to save $ money $ by purchasing a recycled unit or by taking advantage of special volume pricing on extremely popular models! Ask your salesman for a budget solution!
