TIE ROD ASSEMBLIES
The Tie Rod has two places where it can wear at the ball or swivel joint by the rack and pinion, and also at the tie rod end. If there is play at either place you'll get a shimmy at the steering wheel.
Tie rod assemblies are complete with both ends. Made by an O.E.M. manufacturer. Our recycled ones are excellent and should last years. D means it fits only the driver’s side, P means passenger side, D & P (driver/passenger) means it fits both sides. Sold separately.

Most VWs have removable and replaceable tie rod ends, the passenger side is always adjustable and usually the driver's side, too. If the driver's side tie rod assembly has ever been replaced it is usually replaced by an adjustable one. (If you replace the entire assembly forget this). If you're going to replace the driver's side end only, check to make sure it screws off. If you don't check, don't tell us we sent you the wrong one.
