Diesel Crank Gear With Notch

Crank Timing Gear: 1.6L Diesel 80-89

VW diesel crank gear. The crank gear is designed to get the timing of the crank in sequence with the timing of the cam in the cylinder head. If they fall out of sync you risk causing catastrophic engine failure. Uses a 14mm bolt (not included), for crankshafts with the large notch.

When replacing your VW diesel crank gear replace your consider replacing your timing belt. VW diesel engines are interference engines and will destroy themselves if that timing belt gets loose. So inspect and replace it now to save yourself on major headaches later. Also consider replacing your tensioner pulley for extra insurance against future engine damage.
