Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW diverter valve. The turbo bypass valve is more commonly referred to as the diverter valve in VWs. It is used to send the extra boost pressure back to the turbo inlet pipe when the throttle body closes. If you notice your turbocharged car is surging, then your turbo diverter valve has most likely gone bad.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

The VW diverter valve is responsible for releasing extra pressure from the turbo, but you also need to check your N75 valve which regulates how much pressure the turbo is allowed to create. If you replace both of these valves and still have some drivability issues, it is likely that you are due for a new turbo in your Jetta, Golf, or New Beetle.
