Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

VW TDI turbocharger. Restore your TDIs full power with our completely remanufactured turbocharger assembly. Turbochargers are subject to extreme temperatures and as the miles pile up, the internal bearings and seals wear out. Our remanufactured variable nozzle (VNT) turbo's are thoroughly inspected and all internal parts are replaced with new parts, including the vacuum actuator (sometimes called the wastegate). These are complete assemblies, including the exhaust manifold, and wastegate, ready to bolt on your TDI.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

The VW ALH TDI turbocharger is integrated into the exhaust manifold and sold as a complete assembly. When you install the exhaust manifold and turbocharger you should make sure to install new gaskets and nuts on the exhaust manifold. You may also find that the studs in the cylinder head are too corroded to put new nuts on; so pick up a few new studs to make a secure connection to your engine.
