Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

VW Passat tie rod. If the inner tie rod section itself has worn out, you have to replace the entire assembly. The assemblies include the inner tie rod, tie rod, and outer tie rod end. Use this high quality, direct fit tie rod assembly to get your tight steering feel back. Driver and passenger side are different.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

While installing your VW Passat tie rod, inspect other parts of your suspension before you get an alignment. Your ball joints need to be inspected for rips, and seized joints. Don’t forget to inspect your other tie rod assembly either; if it is in good condition, this is still a good time to replace the just the outer tie rod end. You will be amazed how much different your VW will feel, after you get it all back together.
