Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW catalytic converter. Catalytic converters clean the exhaust gasses using heat and a chemical reaction. If the engine stays in tune, they function worry free for a very long time. If you have kept driving a poor running car, just to make it a "few more miles" the converter can plug up and damage other parts. If it rusts through or becomes blocked, it's time to replace it. This is an original equipment quality converter with the oxygen sensor located behind the converter. **EPA Federal Compliant - Not Legal for sale or use in California. Legal in New York and Maine on EPA Federal Emission Equipped Vehicles only.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

VW catalytic converter. Chances are good that if you are replacing your converter, then your rear oxygen sensor is not responding as quickly as it should either and could lead to damage in your new converter. Changing both at the same time makes the job easier than going back to change the sensor later. For 4 Cylinder engines use #15254, call for VR6.
