Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

part number: 13529

VW brake proportioning valve regulates the amount of brake pressure sent to the rear wheels. It also compensates for heavy loads and panic stops to reduce the likelihood of the rear wheels locking up. If your rear brakes seem to be wearing out too quickly or lock up during heavy braking, you may need to replace this valve. Replace this with #15693 if you are converting your rear drum vehicle to rear discs.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

When you change the brake proportioning valve, you will need to bleed the air and old fluid out of the brake system. Make sure you have a new bottle of brake fluid ready when you begin this job. If you don’t have a Bentley manual for your Volkswagen yet, add one to your order, so you know you are fixing your VW the proper way. A popular edition is shown below.
