Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW power brake servo. The power brake servo is what provides the power assist in your Jetta or New Beetle equipped with ESP. When it starts to fail you will notice that much more effort is required to stop the car, or your brake pedal will go straight to the floor and barely stop the car. Servos can’t be repaired, so you will need to pick up this new high quality, direct fit replacement to make your Volkswagen stop safely again.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

Besides your VW power brake servo other parts of your brake system may cause your brake pedal to feel different than it did when your Jetta or New Beetle left the Volkswagen factory. One part would be the brake check valve, which holds the vacuum in the booster. It could also be your master cylinder failing.
