Looking for VW Thing parts? You’ve come to the right place. We are the VW Thing parts experts. Known as the Volkswagen Type 181, the VW Kurierwagen in Germany, the VW Trekker in the UK, the VW Safari in Mexico, and the VW Thing here in the USA, this light-weight car is meant to handle everything from city roads to the outback to sand dunes to aquatic terrain. Though nearly 30,000 VW Things were imported into the U.S. from 1973-1974, the vehicle ultimately failed to meet crash testing standards for a “Passenger Car” and needed to be reclassified as a “Multi-Purpose Vehicle.” You don’t see many of them on the road here in Michigan but if you head over to the American Southwest you can find these Things crawling all over the place! So if you’re a lucky owner of this little slice of history then Parts Place, Inc. has you covered with all the OEM VW Thing parts, replacement VW Thing parts, and discount VW Thing parts you could ever need. Is everyone telling you the part you need for your VW Thing isn’t available? Don’t panic!
