VW TDI(ALH) intake manifold. This is an original equipment intake manifold for TDI engines. The intake manifold on the TDI(ALH) engine is prone to clogging with carbon build up. Cleaning it out is an exercise in futility; crystallized carbon is virtually impossible to remove. Save yourself the grief, and buy a clean, new intake manifold. This intake manifold has 3 bosses on the back for mounting the EGR cooler.

While replacing the VW TDI(ALH) intake manifold in your car, be sure to replace the intake manifold gasket for a leak free install. This is also a great time to replace your EGR cooler. If you notice that your EGR cooler is clogged or leaking coolant, you may as well knock this job out now, and skip removing the intake assembly again.
