Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW master cylinder. We only carry original equipment quality, direct fit master cylinders; you don't ever want to skimp out on brake components. The master cylinder is responsible for converting your foot pressure into stopping power for your vehicle. If your brakes feel spongy, or the pedal is progressively getting softer it is time to replace your master cylinder, before your car no longer stops at all.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

When you replace the VW master cylinder you may want to use a new brake fluid reservoir for your Golf or Jetta. This will make sure you don't contaminate your new fluid. Flush fresh brake fluid through your brake lines when you change the master cylinder. Never try to reuse old fluid; over time it draws moisture from the air and then it can't handle the heat generated while stopping.
