CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Now that everyone has finally figured out that cars can run great with their emission controls intact (try a VR6 out if you have any doubt as to how modern “clean burning” cars can perform!) a real need for new replacement catalytic converters (at affordable prices!) has arisen. We stock excellent units in the basic configurations shown here. These types cover most all VWs®. Below are some part numbers and pricing. Clearly the days of the           dreaded $700 dealer installed catalytic converters are over!

All of our catalytic converters are USA-made, EPA certified and warrantied by the manufacturer to function just like the factory-installed converter. Our converters are excellent and save you money!

MUFFLER CEMENT

Assemble your exhaust system correctly and eliminate leaks the first time. Use what the factory uses! A thin coating on both sides of the pipe joint ensures a tight, long lasting seal.

DON’T FORGET THE HARDWARE!

Exhaust systems are held together with clamps, gaskets, nuts and bolts.

This stuff is always rusty and hard to remove. Ask your salesperson for new hardware! Complete installation kits are available that take the guesswork out of installing you new exhaust system.




TECH TIP: Remember the saying “Penny Wise, Pound Foolish”? Don’t be “Pound Foolish” - replace the oxygen sensor when you replace the catalytic converter! When a catalytic converter fails, it is often caused by a bad O2 sensor. If you replace the cat without changing the O2 sensor, chances are your catalytic converter will fail prematurely.
