Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

VW N18 valve. The EGR pressure converter is typically know as the N18 valve. This valve is for the year 2000 and later TDIs (ALH) that have an oval connector. If your car fails an emissions test it could be due to the N18 valve failing.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

When your VW N18 valve goes bad, you should inspect the entire EGR and Vacuum system. The EGR valve is one spot to check for proper operation. If you find that you really need some help solving your EGR issues, you should refer straight to the Bentley manual. It’s the best source for fixing any issue on your Jetta, Golf, or New Beetle.
