Crankcase Vent Valve: Jetta, Golf, New Beetle 1.8T 99-06

VW engine crankcase vent valve. The crankcase vent valve mounts in the turbo intake tube on 1.8T engines. This part works as part of the crankcase ventilation system to return the gasses from the bottom end to the intake stream. If these valve starts to fail or is clogged, you may notice a rougher idle or poor performance.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

The VW crankcase vent valve works along with the PCV valve. If either of these valves is clogged it could be the cause of drivability issues in your VW. If you need help trouble shooting anything in your Volkswagen, you must get a Bentley manual.
