VW Passat control arm. The VW Passat uses a unique 4 link front suspension design. The links from the factory come with greased joints and bushings that have a tendency to dry out. A tell-tale sign of a failing control arm is to listen to an extra rattle in your front suspension. The Passat control arm is actually made of 4 main links on each side; 8 total in the car.
