Refundable Core Charge

If a product you are purchasing has a core charge you will see it in your shopping cart under the product.

A core charge is a little like a bottle deposit. You pay a core charge when you buy a rebuildable product, and get your money back when you return the core.

Cores are the used parts that may be returned when purchasing rebuildable parts. New, used, and remanufactured products may have a core charge. We send cores to our rebuilders to create a remanufactured part. Having a core charge on most rebuildable parts helps us keep our prices low, is a great way to recycle, and ensures there is product available for the next customer. If a core deposit is shown, this charge will be added to your total at the time of sale but is refundable upon the return of your rebuildable original part. Cores are valuable to us; we need them back on a timely basis to be rebuilt so we have product to sell to the next customers. (See core return policy under warranties and return for more info)

If you have any concerns or questions about the core charge or shipping charges, please call us at 586.757.2300.

part number: 10717

The VW master cylinder sends pressure through the brake lines to stop the vehicle. When these wear out you will typically notice a change in the way the brake pedal feels (spongy, sinking feeling, or effort required) that is not explained by the normal brake wear parts.

Condition: New

Warranty

All products carry a 100 day warranty. Engines, cylinder heads, and injection pumps carry an extended 12 month warranty. See our warranty page for details.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

Before you install a new master cylinder in your Volkswagen you will want to be prepared to bleed the brake system like the Bentley manual shown below says. Use a high quality brake fluid like ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid to keep your brakes stopping strongl in all conditions, and lasting longer.
