MK4 Brake Master Cylinder Without ESP

Item #: 19485

Brake Master Cylinder: Jetta 99-05, Golf 99-06, New Beetle 98-2010, W/O ESP

VW master cylinder. The master cylinder sends pressure through the brake lines to stop the vehicle. When these wear out you will typically notice a change in the way the brake pedal feels (spongy, sinking feeling, or effort required) that is not explained by the normal brake wear parts.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

If you are going to be replacing the VW master cylinder in your Jetta, Golf, or New Beetle you will want to have a comprehensive reference like the Bentley Shop Manual shown below. It will guide you through all the proper procedures to install your master cylinder. Also make sure you refill your brake system with the best fluid available; ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid. This will ensure your Volkswagen stops on a dime.
