VW Rabbit front wheel cylinder. This wheel cylinder, VW part #171-611-051, is for the original 1975-1976 Rabbit (Golf in Europe). These original Rabbits came with front drums. Wheel cylinders are the simple hydraulic devices to push the brake shoes against the inside of the drum. They are easy to replace and should be carefully inspected for signs of leakage or corrosion any time you are working on your brakes. Fits both driver and passenger side.

These original rabbits are the only water cooled Volkswagen cars that came with front drum brakes.
