VW connecting rod bearing set. Rod bearings support the connecting rods where they join to the crankshaft. A lot of cold starts, and driving longer between oil changes increases the wear on rod bearings. If you are planning on taking the pistons out, changing the rod and crankshaft bearings at the same time is a smart plan. Sold as 1 complete set for 4 connecting rods.

Do-it-Yourself Tip

While installing your VW connecting rod bearings, do the main bearings at the same time. Scarred or scratched up main bearings will lead to early engine failure. Make sure to use a high quality assembly lube to protect your engine during the initial startup.
