Crank Timing Gear: 1.5/1.6L Diesel 75-82 - Used

VW diesel crank gear. The crank gear is designed to get the timing of the crank in sequence with the timing of the cam in the cylinder head. If they fall out of sync you risk causing catastrophic engine failure. This crank timing gear has a keyway cut into it for a woodruff key to slot in to. It uses a 12mm bolt to connect to the crankshaft. We also carry these new, Please see SN15267.

So inspect and replace it now to save yourself on major headaches later. Also consider replacing your tensioner pulley for extra insurance against future engine damage.
