VW door striker post. This is the post that sticks out in the door jam that your latch grabs when you shut the door. When the door striker bolt is new, the striker surface has a nylon sleeve which serves as a bumper. When they are old the nylon is all worn away and it's just metal-on-metal. In under five minutes you can replace all of them (even on a 4 door). A new striker post solves many door related issues ranging from continually breaking door handles, rattling or sagging doors, and wind noise. This part fits on any door.
